Last week Thursday I was already feeling tired. If I didn’t have a training session on Friday I would have totally called into work. But, I’m a professional and went in. Now it’s Monday morning and again, I would totally call into work, but I’m training all day, so I’m going in. I’m mentally and physically exhausted. Our weekend was jam packed, but in a good way. Family means everything to me. It went something like this:
Saturday:
- 7 am – 9 am -make kids breakfast, teeth, dress, get activity gear
- 9 am – 11:30 am – go to kids activity, wait and watch on hard benches, meet family for brunch
- 11:30 am – 1:30 pm – brunch, laughs, get plants/food/tea, go to mom’s grave site
- 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm – clean up mom’s grave site with new plants, and Ching Ming traditions with love in our hearts and prayers in my heart that she is at peace, watching over us, let her know I’m pregnant and that I miss and love her everyday
- 3:00 pm – 3:45 pm – visit my cousin to pick up some Embla cream for Franklin and have her kid and my kids have a little time together
- 3:45 pm – 4:30 pm – drive back to our neighbourhood to drop off one kid to a birthday party
- 4:30 pm – 6:00 pm – drive to closest Real Fruit bubble tea place for other kid (and us), poop at store, go home
- 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm – adult bday party for former neighbour and close friend, feed kid
- 7:30 pm – 8:30 pm – pick up kid from birthday party and go home
- 8:30 pm – 9:30 pm – get clothes ready for competition, bath, teeth, books, bed
- 9:30 pm – 10:00 pm – I read and finally go to sleep
Sunday:
- 5:30 am – 6:30 am – alarm, get out of bed, get kids ready, warm up croissants, cut up watermelon, make a banana/orange smoothie, pack snacks, phone charger, electronics, etc. pack car everyone and everything
- 6:30 am – 8:00 am – drive to competition, get cash for parking/entry, feed kids
- 8:00 am – 1:45 pm – competition, awards, talk with parents and coaches, kids play with the other kids, drive/park/walk to lunch
- 1:45 pm – 3:30 pm – lunch, walk to car and through park
- 3:30 pm – 4:45 pm – drive home
- 4:45 pm – 6:00 pm – lie down in bed while Franklin and kids play outside and lay down seed on lawns (ours and our neighbours on both sides – you’re welcome family!)
- 6:00 pm – 7:00 pm – play with kids outside while Franklin goes grocery shopping
- 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm – bath, dinner, teeth, books
- 8:30 pm – 9:30 pm – I read and finally go to sleep
I don’t usually track my time, but this weekend was busy and I’m so exhausted that I feel almost justified to whine. I barfed last night and had a head ached before I went to bed. That’s my body telling me something.
We didn’t work on kid’s assignment that’s due on Thursday because we were busy all weekend. Guess what we’ll be doing tonight and tomorrow on top of all the homework? I can almost see why parents just do the assignments themselves. Oh, how I want to get it done in 30-60 minutes myself and just relax for the rest of the time. Does he really need to know about birds?!?
