My future.  I must admit, I don’t plan that far ahead.  I have to factor in realities and it’s not always pretty.  My dad is older.  Franklin’s health is not great.  Our bank account could use a couple more bucks.  For today, I have my dad and Franklin with me, and we have enough in the account to pay the bills and put food on the table.  Life is good.

But, since the topic is ‘hope’ then lets hope away….

I hope that my dad will find inner peace, strength, and happiness now that my mom has passed away.  52-years with your best friend is a long time to start a new life without her.  I hope that he will let me help him.

I hope that I am healthy physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and sexually in the future as I am today, if not stronger.

I hope that I win the lottery or a home business makes enough extra pocket money so I can stay home with the kids.  I am the only one who brings in a pay cheque so things can be tighter than most.  We do not go without, but who can’t do with more?

EDIT:  How could I forget the obvious.  I hope I write a book that makes enough royalties that I can live comfortably with, but not so famous that I will lose my privacy.  Will it be a book to educate those who are a young couple facing dialysis life?  Will it be a book of my blog posts?  Will it be my short story series??  My doctored recipes to feed your kids with allergies??

I hope that my cousin finally moves into her place so we can hang more.  She is my best cousin.  My best friend.  My sister from another mister.  Love you cuz!

I hope my children grow up to be healthy, respectful, intelligent, kind, empathetic, generous, tough, and brave young men.  I hope they find wives that will love, honour, and cherish them in sickness and in health.

I hope they will one day be able to grow a kidney from stem cells so Franklin can have a kidney transplant and not have to take anti-rejection meds.

I hope my family stays true to my mom and keeps the family meals and get togethers going.

I hope….
