Eleisa’s Body by Vi – Day 2

Another mad dash this morning.

3:48 am – Franklin wakes me up. “Lisa, I need you!”  Not a good way to wake up.  Thank God it wasn’t an emergency emergency.  He was having a nose bleed while he was getting off his dialysis machine, so he couldn’t use his hands.  It was dripping.  I grumbled later for him to say “I’m having a nose bleed, I need help getting paper”.  Waking up like that is not fun.

3:49 am – Lucas wakes up crying

4:14 am – Lucas goes back to sleep.  I try and doze off

5:30 am – Alarm goes off

5:45 am- Alarm goes off

6:00 am – Alarm goes off

6:10 am – Get out of bed

6:11 am – Lucas wakes up and is clingy

So, as I scramble to get things ready.  I go to make my shake for my breakfast.  I only have 1/4 cup of skim milk left.  Great.  Do I use the Homo milk in the fridge??  Ugh.  What’s the point of dieting if I’m just going to have full fat milk?!?  DING!  I bought almond milk.  I use that for the rest of the 1.5 cups and 2 scoops of powder.   I only put it in a water bottle and gave it a good shake.  All the while I’m thinking “Franklin said he was going to do this.  Thanks for your support pal”.  I’m tired and grumpy.

I sipped it on the way down to work because I am so hungry.  It’s OK I guess.  But, I still would prefer to eat.  I would usually grab a banana.  But, there wasn’t any fruit for me to bring.   So, when I get to work, I was OK.  I wasn’t starving.  I plow through some work.  But, by 10am I am starving.  Like really really hungry.  Boss Lady shared 2 ginger snap cookies from St. John’s bakery.  So good, and helps tide me over.  I go for lunch at 11:45am.  Delicious.  Food tastes so good.  I had ho-fun noodles in a spicy soup with fried chicken pieces.  Probably not the healthiest, but I didn’t eat all the chicken, so that counts right??  On our way back to our desks, my colleague wants a coffee from whichever has the shortest line.  Well, McD’s wins.  I treat him to a coffee and order a muffin with it.  When you add a muffin to a coffee it’s very minimal charge.  He’s thankful for the coffee and I already have my afternoon munchy.

It was a busy afternoon, so I didn’t have a chance to eat it.  Which is good.  But, sitting on the GO train home, I ate it.  I wasn’t even that hungry.  Ugh.  It was the orange and cranberry one, so at least it’s one of the lower fat ones.  LOL  oh, the rational I tell myself.  I chuckle to myself as I write it!

I eat dinner at the ‘rents.  Delicious home cooking.  Pork chops, baby bak choy, rice, steamed egg with ground pork.  A little o f everything.  I didn’t even eat a whole pork chop!  And all done eating before 6:30 pm.  Hope I don’t get the late night munchies.

What I’ve learned is, I HAVE to bring some form of morning snack before lunch and for the afternoon when I work from the office.  I also ate 2 Halloween size smarties.  Can’t keep having those for my snack everyday.

I didn’t have extra energy.  I was more hungry in the morning.  I think I’ll try to incorporate a lunch time stair climb and bring healthy snacks.  Maybe that will help tomorrow.
